Description

Bode’s Galaxy (M81 - Uma) - A (fore-)boding of things to come with the C8 EHD …?

At first, I didn’t think it would be worthwhile processing this data, I only had about 4hours left of the nearly 8hrs that I had captured. On the first couple of nights, I had to throw out nearly 90% of the subs because of satellites, wind shaking the telescope, etc …

Given that the weather isn’t going to clear up soon, no chance at getting extra data in, I’ve decided to see what I could make of slightly less than 4hours with an f10 scope. This was imaged mainly in parallel with the M101 I posted earlier, as a first reach towards galaxies with the C8 EHD. Imaged at f10 (native focal length, no reducer, no binning, no crop).

Same processing run like with M101. I went for an approach of deeply, warmly saturating the golden look of M81 (as apposed to the colder look that is generally being shown). A bit short on integration time for the fine detail ...

Happy to hear your thoughts ….

Any constructive guidance is welcome .. always looking how I can still improve on this
